STONE MATERIALS. A PROPOSAL FOR THE USE IN THE ADVANCED SYSTEM OF FACADE

This book comes from the kind requests and the suggestions received speaking with international stone professionals and companies interested in the former study written in italian, that was the result of the research activity, parallel to the didactic one, brougth on during the Ph.D. and the research fellowship in the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Pisa.
This work is focused on a proposal, realized and patented in close contact with the producion reality: a mounting system for the construction of the upper part of the back ventilated stone façades with ventilated roofs.
It is a new and simple solution, compared to the current and consolidated building practice and it was developed and elaborated, with different solutions to allow the adaptation of the system to the various design requirements, in collaboration with a leading company worldwide in the field of mechanical anchoring and patented all over the country.
This volume’s final additional aim is to contribute to build a truly new culture of stone materials, based on the knowledge of their potential applications and the proper design and construction iter, which is able to grasp the real quality for a wider relapse and a revival of the sector.
