The use of stone materials in the contemporary interventions or in the architectural heritage needs a careful evaluation before choosing the technical solutions. Marbles, granites, stones and travertine are ancient and traditional materials and left a deep sign in the history of architecture, but today they can be used in completely different way compared to the past, thanks to the new resources and to the progress in the processing techniques and production of components. Then it is fundamental to make the more correct choice according to the value of the object, modulating the possibilities of the technological proposal. Particularly in the interventions in existing buildings and especially in the façades, significant is the moment of analysis of the compatibility among them and the different systems, to individuate the more suitable ones to grant effective and lasting results.
